Open Enrollment

The following information is provided by the Iowa Department of Education:

Open Enrollment is the process by which parents/guardians residing in an Iowa district may enroll their children into another Iowa school district under the terms and conditions of Iowa Code section 282.18 and the administrative rules of the Iowa Department of Education, 281 Iowa Administrative Code Chapter 17.

Iowa Legislature. SF 2310 extends the deadline for parents or guardians to apply to a district with an approved online program. Parents or guardians must submit the application, using the form developed by the Department, to the resident district and to the receiving district:

As a parent of a student who attends a public school district receiving Title I funds, you have the right to inquire and receive information about the qualifications of your child's teacher. If your child is taught by a non-highly qualified teacher for a period of four or more consecutive weeks, you will be notified.
