Sixth at State

Toby Jo Klauenberg, Junior at Ogden High School, placed 6th in
the 2A shot at the 2009 State Track and Field meet held at Drake
Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Toby Jo also competed in the discus
finishing 17th out of the field of twenty four state qualifiers.
This is Toby Jo57;s second year competing in both the shot and
discus at state.
Throughout the track season, Toby Jo has been a consistent
competitor for the Bulldog Track team. She medaled for points with
15 first and 3 second place during the nine regular season meets.
She captured 4th in the discus and won the shot at the district
meet.
The OHS shot and discus records are both held by Klauenberg. She
set the discus record last year and added to it again this year
with a personal best throw of 121 feet 1 inch. Toby Jo claimed the
shot record this year at her home field. Her throw of 39 feet 8 ∏
inches set the new school record as well as the track record.
Klauenberg also holds event records the Panorama track.
Toby Jo is the daughter of Toby and Jennifer Klauenberg. She
is a member of OHS Student Government, National Honor Society and
plays in OHS Band. In addition, Toby Jo is a letter holder in
basketball, volleyball and softball.
