Andrew Heineman Places 10th At State Track Meet…Sets New High School Record!
Senior Andrew Heineman placed 10th at the state track meet with a time of 9:31.92. That time was good enough to set the Ogden High School Record, previously held by Paul Sparks back in 1977 of 9:32.8.
Andrew has finished first in the 1600 every track meet except the ADM meet. Where he placed second, and the state meet this season. Andrew also medaled in every meet in the 800 meter run. His best time was a 2:03.
Despite having no practices over spring break and then missing a week due to senior trip, Andrew was able to accomplish the two goals he set for the season: 1) make it to the state track meet, and 2) get the school record in the 1600.
Andrew has been a very hard worker all throughout his high school career, coming into the weight room every summer and in the mornings during the school year. Andrew has also been a key contributor in football, basketball, and baseball.
Andrew plans to attend Iowa State in the fall. He is the son of Paul and Mari Lynn Heineman.
