ITED Week???

Individual Treats that Everyone Deserves

By Keaston Handeland

November 04, 2009

ITEDS week. A week students often dread and stress about. So what does the staff decide to do? Bribe us with food. Yeah, that's right. They decided that in order to make this year's ITEDS week a success, they would order pizza on Tuesday, and Subway on Thursday. That's not all though. They also said that they would give us coupon books. Books that we could get containing a certain amount of coupons for every test that we are "proficient" on. Being proficient means that we have to score higher than a 41 on each subject. The coupons can be redeemed for multiple rewards. Some may include 5 points off any assignment, being able to drop your lowest quiz score, and possibly being able to skip out on a test!

As the week started, everyone was wondering how it was going to turn out, the anticipation was overwhelming. Tuesday started off good and as the day went on, it got even better. ITEDS ended at about 11:30. After the tests, we were dismissed by our harbor groups to go down to the newly improved east side of the building and get our pizza. After we were done eating, the staff organized games for us to play.  By winning a certain amount of games, we were able to get  free candy and pop. As Thursday came around, it went good as well. Subway was good and so were the games. After about 2 hours of fun and games and even a movie showing in the auditorium, they called us to the gym and dismissed us early. It was awesome.

I think the school as a whole benefited from this decision to reward us and I think we will all see an improvement in the overall Ogden High School's ITED scores. The school spirit was great and I hope we will be able to do it again next year! Bye.
