2025 Student of the Month

May 1, 2025

Ogden High School proudly recognizes Jacob Thomsen as our May Student of the Month for his exceptional character, leadership, academic achievement, and dedication to Ogden High School and the community. Jacob is the son of Sara and Pete Thomsen.

Jacob is a well-rounded student whose impact extends far beyond the classroom. A committed academic achiever, he consistently earns a place on the Honor Roll. His passion for learning and collaborative spirit are evident in both his coursework and extracurricular pursuits.

Jacob’s involvement in a wide range of co-curricular activities is outstanding. He is an active member of the St. John's Youth Group, Bulldog Builders, and multiple athletic and fine arts programs, including Cross Country, Golf, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Pep Band, Concert Choir, Musical Tech Crew, Musical Orchestra, Show Choir Band, and Robotics. He has lettered in band, plays snare drum in the drumline, and has earned numerous Division I ratings with percussion ensembles. His dedication to robotics led to participation in the First Robotics World Championships in Houston in 2023—an impressive accomplishment demonstrating his STEM engagement and teamwork.

Jacob leads by example and serves his peers through positive influence and faith-based leadership. He co-leads the Ogden High School Bible Study group, providing a space for fellowship and reflection among his classmates.

His commitment to service is equally commendable. Jacob has participated in the Bulldog Builders Mission Trip to Mississippi for the past two years, demonstrating compassion and a willingness to serve others. He also contributes to community betterment through food drives organized by the St. John's Youth Group.

Outside of school, Jacob demonstrates responsibility and a great work ethic. He has worked at Fareway for the past three years and served as a Junior Camp Counselor at Hidden Acres last summer. He plans to return this summer as a Senior Camp Counselor, furthering his leadership and mentorship skills.

Jacob Thomsen represents the best of Ogden High School. His drive, service, humility, and leadership are truly commendable. We are proud to honor Jacob as our May Student of the Month. Congratulations, Jacob!
