February Student of the Month
Devon Hiller

OHS is proud to congratulate Devon Hiller for being named February Student of the Month!

(We are recognizing Devon's outstanding achievements this month even though he graduated at the semester in December 2021.)

Devon not only brightened up the halls with his smile, but he also brought so much to OHS by giving his time to help students and staff. Throughout his years at OHS, Devon voluntarily stepped outside of his comfort zone to do what needed to be done and played a significant role in creating a positive OHS culture. Often working behind the scenes, Devon contributed to OHS in so many ways, without drawing attention to himself.

Devon has been heavily involved in a wide variety of activities at Ogden High School, and he has been a valued member of the Fine Arts and Athletic Departments. During his time at OHS, Devon was a member of the marching, concert, jazz, and pep bands and played his trumpet in solo and ensemble contests. He was also involved with the fine arts department as a member of the tech crew for the musicals, Les Misérables and It’s Raining Cats and Dogs

Devon's dedication to Ogden served the athletic department for many years. Throughout his high school years,  was the manager for football, junior high basketball, and track, and he received the “Best Manager” award for his countless hours spent working with the football team.

Whenever he himself was not a participant, Devon attended almost every extracurricular event to show his school spirit, support others, and take photos. This effort did not go unnoticed as he put his photography and journalism skills to work in the OHS yearbook. Devon has been a major contributor to the yearbook staff and represented the Ogden High School staff at the Josten’s Summer Conference in Kansas City.

Not only did fine arts and athletics benefit from Devon’s hard work and can-do attitude, but so did several different activities and clubs. Devon’s love of Ogden, photography, and technology sparked his idea for the OHS Mass Media Club. He founded and was president of this club. He was also a member of the Student Council and the CMS club. As a freshman, he volunteered his time and talents and worked as an apprentice for Mr. Sundell, assisting the district with many technical needs.

Devon is a resilient young man who does not stop when the going gets tough! The character and integrity he possesses are what makes him a trustworthy and humble mentor and friend. These characteristics, along with his voice of reason and inspiring work ethic, helped him earn a place on the honor roll and on the homecoming court.

Devon’s favorite hobby is photography. He turned his love of photography into a business, starting DH Photo, where he has taken many family and senior pictures.

As his business continues to grow, Devon is currently working full-time at Fareway.

Best wishes for a very bright future, Devon. We at Ogden High School know your determination to succeed will take you far! Congratulations to a caring and hardworking Devon Hiller, our February Student of the Month.
